The rules governing municipal elections in the Comox Valley are set by BC's Local Government Act and implemented locally through municipal election bylaws. Coverage here tracks changes to election procedures, nomination requirements, voting rules, signage bylaws, and other election administration decisions affecting the October 17, 2026 municipal election across Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, and the Comox Valley Regional District.

During the 2022 municipal elections there was active, passionate conversation in the Comox Valley Politics group. Among the chatter there was much useful, informative information shared. However the format of a Facebook group simply isn’t built for easy later reference and as new conversations occur, information becomes buried and challenging to access. Within that group, participants also regularly mentioned that it was hard to access information on politicians or their platforms. This website was born out of a desire to make information easily accessible, and ultimately to support and encourage local residents to be well educated and enthusiastic about voting.

This website is being maintained through volunteer hours, and Ko-Fi donations are our sole source of financial support.
