CVRD

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is the regional government body serving the Comox Valley, including the City of Courtenay, Town of Comox, Village of Cumberland, Electoral Areas A, B, and C, and the islands of Hornby and Denman. The CVRD board is made up of elected directors and municipal representatives. It oversees regional services including water, waste management, transit, parks, and emergency planning. Coverage here tracks board decisions, director profiles, and regional governance issues.

About the Website

During the 2022 municipal elections there was active, passionate conversation in the Comox Valley Politics group. Among the chatter there was much useful, informative information shared. However the format of a Facebook group simply isn’t built for easy later reference and as new conversations occur, information becomes buried and challenging to access. Within that group, participants also regularly mentioned that it was hard to access information on politicians or their platforms. This website was born out of a desire to make information easily accessible, and ultimately to support and encourage local residents to be well educated and enthusiastic about voting.

This website is being maintained through volunteer hours, and Ko-Fi donations are our sole source of financial support.
